Casa Ivan with pool in Tihaljina

Casa Ivan is a 7bedroom, two bathroom hacienda built in 1870s with a swimming pool which has been renovated during the 2000’s. It is located in a small place called Tihaljina (BiH), 30mins away from Medugorje and Mostar. Its closeness to the Croatian boarder will take you for a swim in the beautiful Croatian sea within less then 30mins (famous Makarska riviera).Breakfast is possible on request and costs 15 euros per person.

House itself is an ancient family-owned estate that has served many generations throughout the years. One of the first mill, butchery shop, and market was located initially within this house. Even though, out of function, mill is still here for you to see it and reflect on how it might have been ‘back then’. Also, you can experience the live market by going out of the house and simply picking the fresh apple and vegetables from the garden (for free). Its rich history is literary felt on every corner of the house. This is a place for dreamers to reset, reflect, and create. Designed with a 'slow' pace in mind, our hope is that you enjoy every part of your stay; from sitting on the quite porch and sipping the morning coffee to choosing the perfect record to put on as the sun sets, or by relaxing in one of the most beautiful pool of the area surrounded by over 100 years old walnut trees and starry night sky.

This house is very close to downtown of Tihaljina where you will find couple of local coffee bars and restaurants( where you can taste delicious hercegovinian lamb and wines.). Moreover, on the very top of a small hill you will find a beautiful old town church of the Blessed Virgin Mary whose statue has become ‘the statue of our Lady Mary of Medjugorje’ and plays a big part of the famous pilgrimage to our Lady in Medjugorje. There are 7 bedrooms and two bathrooms in the house, which works well for a group of friends, couples, or families. Kitchen is fully equipped with appliances that will serve you perfectly for any kind of home cooked meal. Living room is normal size and can sit up to 10 people.

    “Fantastisch huis, je hebt je eigen landgoed! En wat een gastvrijheid. Lekkere hapjes en drankjes bij aankomst en we konden 24/7 voor vragen terecht. Echt een heerlijk huis voor grote groepen, waar je op allerlei plekken kunt terugtrekken of juist samenkomen. En niemand heeft last van je.”

    “Wat een fantastisch verblijf hebben we hier gehad! Echt een heel landhuis voor onszelf, met alle denkbare faciliteiten. We zijn super gastvrij ontvangen met lekkere hapjes en echt niets was te veel. Als je de kans krijgt, ga hierheen! Wat een geweldige accommodatie.”
