Charming vacation home in the Vire Valley, in the heart of a typical old farmhouse in Gourfaleur. It is located in lower Normandy and less than an hour from the coast.
This pretty house adjoins the owners, offers an authentic setting with its flower garden and trees, and is the perfect place for a romantic getaway in the picturesque landscapes of the Norman Bocage. Simply furnished but perfectly functional, this rental has a private terrace facing south that cannot be seen, so you can enjoy the sun and the tranquility of the countryside in complete privacy. Feel free to use the rest of the property as well.
Take walks in the valley on the banks of the Vire, which are great in any season. You can reach the banks in about 20 minutes.
The landscaped banks allow for many sports such as hiking or biking along marked routes. Rent a mountain bike, a canoe, a kayak, a stand-up paddle or even a trolley nearby on the old railroad line. Not far away, the Roches de Ham offer a breathtaking panorama of the river's meanders. For the brave, a bicycle road connects the landing beaches to Mont-Saint-Michel.
This resort is ideal for a day trip in less than an hour by car: Saint-Lô, the historic city of liberation, capital of the horse, with its renowned national stud or its Bocage Museum. Or Bayeux and its famous tapestry, the Caen Memorial or the long sandy beaches. Try more original activities like bungee jumping, summer tobogganing, ziplining or tree climbing. Also, don't miss the theme parks of the Souleuvre Viaduct.
